How do I create a benefits package for my employees?

Kota enables you to offer your employees several benefits, such as health insurance, pension, and life assurance. These can be created individually or, under certain circumstances (for the same provider and the same country), offered in a single package.

In addition, you can also create different packages of the same benefit for different groups of employees - if by any chance you'd like to offer different types of coverage/contribution depending on the role, seniority, etc.

Step-by-step tutorial

1. Create a billing entity

If you haven't done so yet, you'll need to create your billing entity first to be able to create your first benefits package. This involves providing information about your company, as well as your payment details. Se here how to do that.

2. Create a benefits package

  1. On your employer account, click on Benefits on the left-hand panel.


  2. Ensure the top banner displays the country where your employees are based. If you'd like to offer benefits to employees based in another country, click on "Other countries" and select the right country.
    As benefits are country-specific, companies with employees in several countries will need to create different packages. That is, you'll have to create one for your Irish team, another for your UK team, etc.

  3. Select the benefit/s you'd like to include in your package.


  4. Insert the amount/percentage you'd like to contribute for this package. You can also use our benchmark tool to set your contributions to a low, standard or competitive tier.


  5. Confirm the billing entity you want to be charged for this benefit.


  6. Give a name to this package for your internal reference (this won't be displayed to your employees). Confirm the summary of details previously set up, and click on "Create Package" in the bottom right corner to finalise.

Note that if you have already added your staff information to Kota, you'll be asked to select which team members you'd like to assign to that package during the package creation process. Otherwise, you will still have to make this assignment after adding your people.
